What is Phase I treatment?

Phase I orthodontic treatment is designed toward the correction of the jaws more than teeth. This treatment is carried out on children while there is still time to correct the abnormalities Children grow fast and this is the perfect time to help fix issues associated with accelerated or decelerated jaw growth, jaws that are too narrow or too wide or even crooked. This interceptive treatment provides a good foundation and adequate room for the eruption of adult teeth. This treatment focuses on the bone structure, not the final positions of adult teeth. Therefore comprehensive treatment is often needed to fully complete a patient’s treatment to reach optimal results.
